Warlord Awaji Demo
A source-checked field note on the demo's post-launch Steam status, what the pre-release Demo Update 2.0 offered, and which campaign features should not be assumed.
Demo status
Warlord: Awaji was released on September 9, 2026. When this page was last checked on September 11, 2026, the official Steam store no longer displayed the Download Warlord: Awaji Demo option that appeared before launch.
This confirms the public store page no longer offers a visible demo download; it does not establish whether an older demo license or build still exists behind Steam's interface. The material below is retained as pre-release demo history, not as evidence of present-day availability.
What Demo Update 2.0 included
The clearest pre-release feature record is the official Demo Update 2.0, published June 17, 2025. That update added:
- horses, horseback riding, and mounted AI;
- bows, ranged AI, five arrow types, ammunition switching, and advanced ballistics;
- a new Instant Action map;
- a compact warrior-mansion environment and a Yabusame track;
- dynamic interior lighting, plus interactable and destructible doors and shutters;
- shield-deploying AI and wider combat, AI, and audio improvements.
This update superseded old descriptions of the demo as melee-only. Earlier official posts also discussed ranks, equipment, retainers, and later experience changes, but those progression notes remain historical context rather than a description of the released game.
Instant Action
An older official FAQ described Instant Action as a fast battle mode between two samurai teams on a limited map. It remains useful historical context for the mode's purpose: getting into a contained fight without presenting the full open-world campaign.
Because that definition predates Demo Update 2.0, use it as orientation rather than a promise that every rule or map detail remains unchanged.
What the demo does not confirm
The pre-release demo did not establish the final size or contents of the released campaign. It also should not be used to infer the launch price, a fixed settlement count, or the final balance of army progression.
Features shown in a development demo may have changed before release. This guide separates dated demo notes from the broader gameplay overview so the two pages do not imply the same scope.
